Padme Amidala

First known as Padmé Naberrie, Queen Amidala became the formal name of the royal Naboo leader. When she was a child, Amidala was well educated and extremely talented. She had always been interested in public service and volunteered for many causes when she was young. At the very young age of eight years old, she joined the Apprentice Legislature. By the age of 14, she was elected Queen of Naboo.

During the siege of Naboo by the Trade Federation, Amidala was being forced to sign a treaty that would allow her home of Naboo to be occupied illegally. Amidala refused and was sentenced to a prison camp. While being transported to the camp, Amidala was given help by some Jedi. The Jedi took the Queen to Coruscant so that she could present her case for the Senate and hopefully receive help for Naboo.

As time passed, Amidala discovered just a few of the inefficiencies of galactic politics as she watched the Trade Federation push her plea for help behind other current events. Amidala eventually took the advice of Senator Palpatine and called for a vote of No Confidence in Supreme Chancellor Valorum.

After she grew tired of the Senate, she returned to Naboo where she soon requested help from Gungans. During the Battle of Naboo, Amidala forced her way into her own palace to drive Viceroy Nute Gunray out and to end the illegal occupation.
