Obi-Wan Kenobi was a true legend in the history of the Jedi. While at the age of 25, Kenobi found himself caught up in the important events of the Battle of Naboo. Following his Master, Obi-Wan left Naboo and went to Coruscant and back during the Battle of Naboo. When Qui-Gon Jinn brought a freed young slave boy, Anakin Skywalker, to the Jedi Council, Obi-Wan was devastated. Qui-Gon believed that Anakin was the Chosen One of an ancient Jedi prophecy and he requested that Skywalker be his new Padawan learner, replacing Obi-Wan. The council refused Jinn's proposal to train the boy.
During the battle of Naboo, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan found themselves battling a deadly Sith Lord. A forgotten menace, the Sith had returned after centuries had passed since their last appearance. For the first time in ages, Jedi and Sith dueled. It was Darth Maul that used his incredible speed, anger and double-ended lightsaber to fend off both Jedi at once. As the fight continued, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon became separated. Kenobi watched helplessly as Maul killed Qui-Gon. With rage, Kenobi defended himself and killed Darth Maul.
Later, it was Kenobi that trained Anakin Skywalker to be a Jedi to fulfill the final requests of Qui-Gon. Despite previously denying the training of Skywalker, the Council agreed despite strong reservations by Yoda.
