Palpatine came from the world of Naboo where his world seemed peaceful. Yet his time as ruler showed no mercy and his actions changed the way of the galaxy forever.
Before he rose to power as the Emperor, Palpatine was Senator in the Galactic Republic. Palpatine had the vision to see the Republic begin to crumble. Each passing year brought more lies and corruption within the Senate while the system tried to keep up with their ways.
Palpatine found his opportunity to rise to power during a trade embargo. The Trade Federation blocked and invaded Naboo. Naboo's leader, Queen Amidala, asked for help from Palpatine to correct the situation. Together they pleaded to the Senate for an intervention but found that the Trade Federation was delaying their request. Left with few options, Queen Amidala took Palpatine's suggestion and called for a Vote of No Confidence in the Republic's leadership.
Soon after, Chancellor Valorum was voted out of office, leaving Palpatine to be nominated in his place. Due to the situation on Naboo, Palpatine became Chancellor after he received sympathy vote and with a promise to bring peace and justice back to the government, he was paving the way for his ruling.
Despite Palpatine's promises of change, the Republic continued to be plagued with chaos.
